The Four Seasons is a group of four violin concerti by Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi, each of which gives musical expression to a season of the year. They were written around 1716–1717 and published in 1725 in Amsterdam, together with eight additional concerti, as Il cimento dell'armonia e dell'inventione. The Four Seasons is the best known of Vivaldi's works. Though three of the concerti are wholly. Fever Vivaldi Four Seasons

Fever Vivaldi Four Seasons

Fever have now announced the locations for three Candlelight venues.

We’ve already heard the news that these gorgeous Concerts by Candlelight are coming to Sydney, but with tickets being snapped up fast the organisers have announced a third venue to host these enchanting nights—Sydney’s Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour.

Sydney’s newest Candlelight venue will continue the open-air series so that we can kick back and relax under the night sky to the sound of music.

The Maritime Museum

The latest venue to be added to Fever’s Concerts by Candlelight roster is home to Australia’s largest maritime collection. Located in Darling Harbour, the Maritime Museum also offers up spectacular city skyline and harbourside views, which, if you ask us, will surely make for a splendid backdrop to these magical nights of classical music and jazz numbers.

Fever Vivaldi Four Seasons

An evening of Jazz meets Baroque Musickicks off the magic at the Maritime Museum on 15 and 16 January when the ‘Robbie Diamonds Quartet’ pick up their instruments to play jazz renditions of Baroque classics—Si dolce è il tormento, Che si puo fare, and Lascia ch’io Pianga to name but a few.

These enchanting nights will continue at the Maritime Museum on 17, 18, 19 and 20 January. However, the evenings will be filled with the music of Vivaldi’s Four Seasonsas performed by the ‘Ben Adler Quartet’.

The Mint

The Mint has seen many reincarnations over its 200-year history. The building, which has now passed into the hands of Sydney Living Museums, is one of the most treasured and beautiful buildings in Sydney’s CBD and its courtyard is the perfect place for candles to light up the night and for you to let yourself be carried away by the music.

Fever Vivaldi Four Seasons Sheet Music

The first of the open-air concerts taking place in the Courtyard at The Mint will see the ‘Robbie Diamonds Quartet’ perform their jazzed-up numbers of Baroque classics on 13 January before the ‘Ben Adler Quartet’ takeover on 14 and 15 January with Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

All nights of the Candlelight concert series will see two shows performed at 7:30 and 9:30pm, with seating for the first performance taking place at dusk so it won’t be as dark to begin with.

The Orpheum Theatre

The second venue announced as part of the Candlelight series was the Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace. Unlike the nights at The Mint and the Maritime Museum, these Concerts by Candlelight at the Orpheum theatre invite guests inside to take a trip back in time.

First built in 1935 by George Kenworthy, the Hayden Orpheum Theatre charmed audiences just as much as the films they went to see. Thankfully, and luckily for Sydney, this great dame of theatre palaces was saved from becoming another shopping arcade and was restored to its former glory after falling into disrepair.

A step inside the Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace is like taking a step back in time to when going to the pictures was a real treat. It immerses you in the moment, which will be lovely for these candlelight concerts.

Playing two shows per night from the 15-19 February at 6:30pm and 8:30pm, the Van-Anh Trio will treat attendees to some of Beethoven’s best works before Anna Da Silva Chen takes over to perform more classics from Beethoven’s repertoire in March.

We are already imagining these wonderful spaces lit up by candlelight. Magical.

Don’t miss out on an incredible night out and get your tickets here.
